Mike Schneider

Mike D. Schneider is a PhD candidate in the Department of Logic and Philosophy of Science at the University of California, Irvine. His main research interests hover at the intersection of the foundations of physics, the philosophy of cosmology, and more general issues in the philosophy of science, with a particular focus on the role of cosmological considerations in the pursuit of new theoretical physics. As an instance of this more general theme, his dissertation looks closely at the ways in which the Cosmological Constant Problem structures quantum gravity research, particularly in the absence of novel empirical data available to otherwise constrain such theorizing.
